Autonomous Cars:

Should we consider having them or not?

Should we use autonomous cars? What if they malfunction even after all the research

that has been put in to them? What are we going to do when the driverless cars

overrule us?!

Driverless car using sensors to detect other cars nearby

These are the questions...well except for the last one...that we should ask when the

topic of autonomous cars comes up in our conversations. Autonomous cars are the

latest hot topic in today’s car industries and like all technologies the

robotics or mechanisms start to malfunction after a certain time. There are many

advantages and disadvantages to having driverless cars. First of all traffic would be

manageable and not too crowded, environmentally friendly, parking scarcity,

accessible to anyone, and fewer accidents. With these driverless cars people

could relax and enjoy their ride without having to worry about signals or

maneuvering the vehicle. With every advantage comes a disadvantage. One of the

biggest disadvantages to having driverless cars is the malfunctioning of the robotics.

Since nothing ever lasts forever, research on robotics is rapidly advancing and

researchers are trying to find a better way to make these robotics to not die too soon.
SAFETY FIRST!!!

SOLUTION:

In order to have driverless cars we need to consider the following and how these things

can change our daily lives with autonomous cars:

- Safety of the human beings on this planet comes first, before anything

- Communication between satellite

and GPS should be synchronized and no signals should be lost, and also GPS mustn’t

be confused

Satellites tracking vehicles
-If malfunction of any parts of robotics in driverless cars occurs, then there needs to be

an immediate backup for the problem

- Autonomous cars should follow all safety laws and regulations just like normal cars

- Since autonomous cars have

sensors all around the body of the car, if a sensor should fail,a warning signal

should light up or a sensor backup should be in place

- In case of any emergencies, there

must be charging stations for these driverless cars on the roads, highways, and

freeways.

These ideas will help change our lives when the autonomous cars are fully equipped to

help us ease some of the problems that occur today. Currently, there is research still in

the process and researchers are doing their part to see how far the development of this

project can go.

This is how a self-driving vehicle works.

Though Google has made a couple of driverless cars, these prototypes are

still undergoing research. Even so,no matter what we come up with, our number one

concern is safety. We value human life, since it is such a precious thing, we

must take in consideration about how safe we can make autonomous cars.In order to

learn more about autonomous cars, please visit these sites below. These sites

will help to understand why we should have autonomous cars but should be really

safe and extremely well wired to prevent any issues that could arise.
